Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah netted his fourth goal in the Italian Serie A this season as AS Roma secured a 3-1 victory at home to Empoli on Saturday.
The 23-year-old was on target on 69 minutes to make it 3-0 after two goals from Miralem Pjanic and Daniele De Rossi early in the second half gave the hosts a comfortable lead.
Substitute Radja Nainggolan released Gervinho with a superb through ball on the left and the Ivorian marksman crossed low for Salah to rifle a left-foot shot into the roof of the net.
It was the Egyptian international's first goal for Roma since he scored in the comprehensive 5-1 victory over Carpi last month, and his fourth in the last five league games.
Roma took up an option to sign Salah on a permanent basis earlier this month, paying a reported fee of €20 million to English Premier League champions Chelsea.
Salah joined Roma this summer having just spent six months on loan at another Italian side, Fiorentina, where he excelled in the second half of last season.
He was recently included in a preliminary shortlist drawn up by CAF for the 2015 African Player of the Year award.
