Egypt striker Ahmed ‘Kouka’ Hassan ended a goal drought in style, scoring twice to help Sporting Braga defeat Academica 3-0 in the Portuguese league on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old opened the scoring on 31 minutes, finishing off a flowing three-man move with an angled first-time chip over the keeper.

Nikola Stojiljkovic doubled the lead on the stroke of halftime before Kouka put the icing on the cake five minutes from time with a fine header from a right-wing cross.

Kouka has not found the net for five straight league games since scoring in Braga’s 4-0 rout of Belenenses on 31 October.

He took his tally to five league goals so far this season, including one with Rio Ave before he joined Braga in the summer.

The win over Academica put Braga fourth in the league table with 29 points.
