Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward Jesé Rodríguez Ruiz has declined a loan move to Serie A side Roma this winter since he fears no regular playing time after Egypt winger Mohamed Salah returns to the team from the 2017 African Cup of Nations, L’Équipe reported on Thursday.
Roma are interested in finding a replacement for the team's goal machine Salah, who will be at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt in Gabon from 14 January to 5 February.
The former Real Madrid forward Jese is not convinced about a move to Roma, while PSG would be happy with the move since the Giallorossi would pay his salary.
Jese himself, who has made just one start since joining PSG from Real Madrid in the summer, is worried about how much space he would be given.
Salah has been one of Roma's key performers since joining the squad from English side Chelsea in August 2015.
The Pharaohs winger scored eight goals with Roma so far this season, netting a total of 19 goals in all competitions in 2016.
Most of European teams are suffering from the African players' absence for more than month due to participation in the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
