Mohamed Zidan, the Egypt and Borussia Dortmund striker has described the Pharaohs’ 2-0 loss to Brazil on Monday as "normal."

“Sure I’m disappointed by the defeat, but the result is not so bad if remember we played one of the best teams in the world,” the striker told a TV programme after the match.

Yesterday’s match was the first for Egypt’s newly appointed technical staff headed by American coach Bob Bradley, and Zidan said it’s too early to judge the coach’s performance.

“It was the first time the national team had played since June, and Bradley’s first match in charge. The experience of playing a big team like Brazil should have a positive effect on the players.

“The new coach needs more friendly matches to get to know the players and prepare for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers,” concluded Zidan.

Zidan has mainly been used as a substitute in the Bundesliga this season, having failed to reclaim his place in the starting XI after recovering from a serious knee injury earlier this year.
