Stoke City's Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi is not in talks to join his former club Ahly in the summer transfer window, the player's agent Nader Shawky revealed on Monday.
"There aren't any talks with Ahly to sign Ramadan in the summer. I only heard this news from the media," Shawky told Egyptian radio station Mega FM on Monday.
"Ahly could be interested in resigning the player, but that is as far as it goes," he added.
Ahly's coach Hossam El-Badry recently said that the 21-year-old player is interested in rejoining his boyhood club this summer, which the player’s agent has denied.
"There has not been any direct contact between El-Badry and Ramadan," the agent said.
In late March, Sobhi's agent cast doubts over the winger's future at Stoke City after revealing that his client had already received offers from four Premier League clubs to leave in the summer.
The Egyptian international, who joined Stoke from Cairo giants Ahly on a four-year contract in the summer of 2016, has played a bit-part role this season despite penning a one-year extension to his four-year contract with Stoke last October.
He has only made 22 Premier League appearances so far this term, with the latest coming in the 1-1 draw against West Ham earlier this month when he made a rare start before being replaced in the 61st minute.
He has made 25 appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring three goals including two in the elite Premier League.
As Stoke is currently battling at the relegation zone of the English Premier League table as they currently lie at the 19th place with 29 points, just four ahead of bottom side Swanses City, Sobhi's future remains uncertain.
"There will be a meeting with Stoke's officials to discuss the player's future. The English club management is sad to hear the news in Egypt about some offers for Ramadan," the agent concluded.
Ramadan became Stoke's youngest-ever scorer in the Premier League when he struck in the 3-1 home victory over West Bromwich in December.
Sobhi is a regular member of Egypt's squad and is expected to be included in the Pharaohs' final roster for the summer World Cup in Russia.
