Egyptian winger Amr Warda announced on Monday his departure from Greek club PAOK during the current winter transfer window without revealing his next destination.

“Goodbye with love and respect, thank you to every PAOK fan,” the player said in a short statement via Instagram.

The 25-year-old Egypt international, who made just nine appearances with PAOK this season, was strongly linked with a move away from the club amid a reported feud with Romanian coach Razvan Lucescu. Warda did not score a single goal this season, even in the two other appearances in the Cup competition.

Last season, Warda impressed in his loan stint with Atromitos after joining from PAOK; scoring 8 goals in 23 league appearances.

The former Ahly player began his overseas playing trip on August 2015 by signing a three-year contract with Greek club Panetolikos; joining on a free transfer from the Cairo giants.

On January 2017, Warda, who has made 18 international appearances so far, signed a three-and-a-half -year contract with PAOK.

Warda was a member of Egypt’s squad that featured in both the 2018 African Cup of Nations and the World Cup finals.
