Arsenal coach Unai Emery has confirmed on Wednesday that the Egyptian international midfielder Mohamed Elneny is ready for the upcoming season, according to Arsenal's official website.
When asked about how close the team's midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is to being ready for the coming season, emery replied "He came back later than the others, but now we have Lucas Torreira, Mohamed Elneny, and the only other player we're waiting for is Iwobi."
Elneny joined Arsenal's pre-season preparatory camp late, after his participation with his national team in the recent Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Egypt, where the Pharaohs were eliminated in the round of 16.
The 27-year-old Egyptian midfielder made 17 appearances with the Gunners in all competitions last season.
The former Arab Contractors player joined Arsenal on the winter transfer market of 2015-2016 season coming from the Swiss club FC Basel.
Arsenal ended the 2018-2019 season in fifth place of the Premier League's standing table.
