English Premier League side Sunderland had a shock FA Cup exit after losing to Notts County, a third-tier side, 2-1 on Saturday.

A blunder from the Black Cats keeper Simon Mignolet allowed Craig Westcarr to score the opening goal after only five minutes while Lee Hughes doubled the lead 15 minutes before the final whistle.

Sunderland’s striker Darren Bent scored his team’s consolation goal in the 81st minute from a penalty kick.

Egyptian winger Ahmed Elmohamady came off the bench in the 60th minute replacing Cristian Riveros. He provided many dangerous passes in the area but none was appropriately taken by his teammates.

The defeat leaves coach Steve Bruce frustrated, allowing his friend and counterpart Paul Ince to celebrate a crucial victory.
