Zidan back to the starting XI
Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan made his first starting appearance for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in their large 4-0 victory over Swiss side FC Basel on Sunday.
The 29-year old international forward started the game as an offensive midfielder just behind lone striker Robert Lewandowski.
Zidan had a few efforts on target but wasn’t able to get his name on the scoresheet as Lewandowski (45 minutes), Sahin (61 minutes), Da Silva (70 minutes) and Ginczek (88 minutes) scored for the Bundesliga leaders.
He was replaced in the 64th minute by Tamas Hajnal.
The Pharaohs striker has been ruled out for seven months since last April with a cruciate knee injury. He resumed action in November and hopes to bounce back rapidly to regain his place in Dortmund’s starting eleven.
