Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel announced on Monday that Egyptian forward Mohamed Zidan is likely to play against FC Cologne on Tuesday, after being sidelined during the two past games.
''The probability that Zidan plays on Tuesday was very high,'' Tuchel told spox.com
''I think he will have something to do in this crucial game,'' he added.
Zidan, who made an impressive start to his third Mainz spell by scoring six goals in consecutive matches, had lost his place in the Mainz starting XI list during the last two games.
He stayed on the bench against Werder Bremen, before playing 35 minutes in Mainz's 4-1 defeat to Stuttgart.
This last defeat complicated Mainz's situation in the Bundesliga, as the club is nearing the dropzone.
Mainz are now 11th in the league table with 33 points, four points ahead of third-from-bottom FC Cologne.
