Egypt midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou made his return from injury on Tuesday when he came on as a substitute in the second half of a Saudi Ittihad Jeddah scoreless draw against Bani Yas from the Emirates, in the AFC Champions League.

The 29-year-old midfielder has been on the sidelines since 1 April after sustaining a hamstring injury against Ahly Jeddah in the league.

Coach Caneda brought Abd-Rabou in at the 54th minute in place of Ibrahim Hazzazi, in an attempt to give his side more attacking options.

However, the hosts' defence didn't crack, keeping their chances alive in the group stage.

Ittihad are top of Group B with 10 points after four games, while Bani Yas are second with just five.
