Zamalek's director of football, Ibrahim Hassan, has said that former the Ajax Amsterdam striker is on his way back to the white castle after agreeing a three and a half year deal.

“Mido will arrive to Cairo on Thursday, 20th of January to sign and finalize his contracts with Zamalek,” Hassan told an Egyptian TV program.

Ibrahim’s twin and Zamalek coach Hossam Hassan has recently announced the club's interest in bringing the international striker back to the Cairo giants.

On the contrary, Mido’s father, Hossam Wasfy, said that there are no negotiations between his son and any Egyptian club.

“Mido refuses the idea of going back to Egypt at this time,” Mido’s father said.

After terminating his contract with Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam, Mido is currently training with English second division side Middlesbrough, whom he left in the summer to join Ajax.

The Egyptian striker won the praises of Boro coach Tony Mowbray who said that he regain his fitness but warned him not to expect a lucrative deal if an agreement over his return was reached.

Mido returned to Zamalek, his boyhood club, last season in a six-month loan deal but failed to live up to expectations on the field.

Zamalek are in the driving seat of the Egyptian league table with 31 points, five ahead of Ismaily and Inpi, and four ahead of their archrivals Ahly.
