Egypt’s Kouka opens scoring account for Konyaspor

Egyptian striker Ahmed ‘Kouka’ Hassan scored on Monday his first goal for Turkish side Konyaspor in their 2-2 away draw against Kasimpasa.

Playing his fourth game for the team, Kouka broke the deadlock in the 18th minute when he met a fine cross from Bytyqi at the far post with a first touch from close range.

Gyrier doubled his team’s lead three minutes later.

However, they threw away their two-goal lead as Travnik and Bozok grabbed a point for the hosts with goals in the 29th and 63rd minutes respectively.

"Happy for my first goal but disappointed with the result," Kouka tweeted after the game.

Kouka, who joined Konyaspor just before the closing of the summer transfer window, started the game but was substituted in the 61st minute.

Konyaspor are now sixth on the Turkish table with 13 points, three behind leaders Fenerbahce.

Kouka is set to travel to Egypt to join the Pharaohs’ camp as he has been included in a 33-man preliminary squad for October’s World Cup qualifying fixtures against Libya.
