29-year-old Salah netted 150 goals in 233 games since he joined Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, helping his team claim the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles.
Salah has become the second fastest Liverpool player to reach that mark, just behind Roger Hunt, who achieved that feat in 226 games.
“I hope Salah will wear Real Madrid’s jersey as he is one of the best players that I have watched,” Calderon told a state-run channel’s programme early on Monday.
Salah claimed eight trophies with Liverpool, helping the team win the UEFA Champions League title in the 2018/19 season as well as claiming the 2020 English Premier League title.
“He helped Liverpool win more trophies,” the former Real Madrid president said.
The Egyptian winger, who has 18 months left on his current deal with Liverpool, has been in talks with the club about an extension but has not yet received what he deems as an acceptable offer.
He said in a recent interview with GQ magazine that he is not asking for “crazy stuff” and wants to be appreciated for all he has done for the club.
