Egypt's Mostafa Mohamed in tough mission as Galatasaray set to face Barcelona in Europa League

Egypt's striker Mostafa Mohamed will face a tough mission, as his Turkish side Galatasaray were drawn to face Spain La Liga giants Barcelona in March in the Europa League round of last 16 in the toss that took place in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday.

Galatasaray booked their place in the Europa League last 16 after leading Group E with 12 in the second European tournament group stage, while Barcelona defeated Napoli 4-2 in a knock out game.

The 24-year-old attacker enjoys a perfect run with Galatasaray this season as he scored five previous goals in 18 appearances in the Turkish league so far this season, booking a regular place in the team’s lineup in all competitions.

Early in December, Turkish side Galatasaray officiated the contract option with the now-former Zamalek star to change his deal from on loan to permanent basis.

Since joining Galatasaray last season, Mohamed has made an impressive start with the team, scoring 16 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions .

Mostafa Mohamed was part of Egypt national team squad which competed in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, helping the Pharaohs to reach the final game before losing to Senegal on penalty kicks.
