Mo left the Brighton game in the second half after picking up a foot injury; however, Klopp told the pre-match press conference held on Tuesday ahead of their clash against Arsenal that Salah will join training on Tuesday and may play in the game.
“Mo is a tough cookie and he was only a little bit cut, we were quite lucky with it. It was swollen, painful, yesterday a little less swollen, less painful.
“Now I got the message before the press conference that Mo is ready to train and we will see how that looks,” said Klopp.
The Egyptians were also worried about Salah's injury, as he will need to be fit ahead of the Pharaohs’ play-offs against Senegal scheduled for 25 and 29 March, as the winner will secure their seat at the 2022 World Cup.
Salah, who has earned the title “Egyptian King” from Liverpool fans, is now facing an obstacle in his contract renewal, as his agent and the club have not yet reached an agreement. His contract will end in the summer of 2023.
“I am not concerned. It is how it should be. The decisive parties are in contact,” Klopp said.
It has also been reported that Salah’s agent mocked on Twitter the German coach’s earlier statements about the contract renewal, so when Klopp was asked to comment, he replied, “the last thing I want to do is create headlines. No, it's all fine, I don't know about any reactions.”
“I'm not on Twitter, another good reason for that. You got me in the trap and I create headlines,” Klopp said.
The 29-year-old winger became a superstar after he joined Liverpool, claiming many individual titles, including the Premier League top scorer twice, and helping his team win the Premier League and the Champions League, which had been out of the club’s reach for many years.
Salah will start a new chapter in his impressive career with another club and maybe in another country if he does not reach an agreement with Liverpool soon.
