The Bundesliga said on Friday that Marmoush was rewarded for "some top displays" in March to win the competition's "Rookie of the Month" award, which he also earned in September last year.

A brilliant display that he produced in Stuttgart's exciting 3-2 win over Augsburg on 19 March proved key to his win.

Marmoush curled an exquisite free kick over the defensive wall and into the back of the net to bring Stuttgart level at 2-2 in the 79th minute, finding the net for the first time since December.

He also set up Tiago Tomas for a precious winner five minutes from time.

The 23-year-old has scored three league goals in 18 appearances so far this season. He also provided four assists.

Marmoush is a key member of Egypt's squad under Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz. He took part in all seven games as the Pharaohs reached the African Nations Cup final in Cameroon in February before losing to Senegal on penalties.
