The 23-year-old forward joined German side Wolfsburg in 2017 from Egypt's Wadi Degla and played with the reserve team till 2020, when he was loaned to FC St. Pauli in January 2021.

In August 2021, he joined Stuttgart also on loan, where he excelled and helped the team avoid relegation.

Recently, Wolfsburg hired former Bayern Munich Croatian coach Kovac to lead the team with the start of the new season. In statements to the German news website "Kicker", Kovac explained that Marmoush should stay longer at Wolfsburg.

“We are completely in contact with Omar's agents," says VfL managing director Jörg Schmadtke.

Marmoush’s contract is due in the summer of 2023, however, he did not receive any extension offers from Wolfsburg.

Spanish side Espanyol as well as England’s Brentford and Nottingham Forest are monitoring the Egyptian forward, according to Kicker.

Earlier, Marmoush revealed in an interview with Filgoal that he will leave if he did not play regularly. He also said that he dreams of playing in the Premier League.

"I respect my contract with Wolfsburg and that I should always be prepared, however, my target is to play regularly. If they won’t give me that chance, I will leave," said Marmoush.
