The 24-year-old started the game and opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when he skipped-past his marker to fire a nice shot that went in the bottom of the net.
Nantes' forward Samuel Moutoussamy scored in his own net to level the score six minutes after the break but Evann Guessand scored a last-gasp winner deep in injury time, giving his side a winining start in the group stage campaign.
This goal is the third in his last four games for the Egyptian international who has also found the net against Toulouse and Strasbourg in the French league.
The former Zamalek striker joined Nantes from Turkish side Galatasaray on a season-long loan in the close season.
He made six appearances with Nantes so far this term in all competitions.
Mohamed is among eight foreign-based players called-up for Egypt’s national team by new coach Rui Vitoria for their games against Niger and Liberia on 23 and 27 September respectively.
