He exchanged passes with Jakub Kaminski on the edge of the area and beat the keeper at his near post with a fine low shot.

Maximilian Arnold then gave Wolfsburg a 2-1 lead on 38 minutes but Stuttgart's Konstantinos Mavropanos restored parity on the stroke of halftime before Gerhardt netted a stoppage-time winner for the hosts.

Marmoush has scored two goals in nine appearances in all competitions so far this season.

He was on target when Egypt crushed Liberia 3-0 in a friendly game last Tuesday.
