Egypt winger Mahmoud Trezeguet announced Sunday that his team Trabzonspor will still win the Turkish League title this season, following the team’s 2-0 victory over leaders Fenerbahce on Saturday.

“All teams have the chance to win the Turkish League title this season and we believe that we will do it again,” Trezeguet told reporters.

The 28-year-old Egyptian winger struck deep in stoppage time to complete Trabzonspor's 2-0 win over Fenerbahce.

Striker Maxi Gomez gave Trabzonspor the lead at the 61 minute mark before Trezeguet ensured the win 11 minutes into the additional time.

“I fought to secure the game’s points as I wanted to please the team’s supporters, so we deserve the victory today,” the Trabzonspor star added.

“Trabzonspor’s coach and my teammates all support me to achieve my target with the team,”

“We deserve today’s win as it is an important three points,” the Egyptian player concluded.

Trezeguet took his tally to five goals in 13 Turkish league games so far this season. He has also provided three assists.

Trabzonspor, who have won the Turkish League title seven times, including in the last edition, lie fourth in the table with 26 points, three behind leaders Fenerbahce after 14 matches.
