Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said on Wednesday that the team’s Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny will be out of the team’s FA Cup clash against Manchester City, adding that there are many concerns about his injury.

The Egyptian midfielder picked a knee injury ten days ago during his side’s training before Tottenham clash.

He missed the North London derby as well as his side’s 3-2 win over Manchester United on Sunday.

"I don’t think he will be available," Arteta told a news conference on Wednesday.

"He had some issues with his knee that we are assessing at the moment and we will have to see how he evolves in the next couple of days."

"There are concerns, especially [because he] is a player who never complains about anything. But let’s see."

Elneny shone in his last appearance with the Gunners as he played the full 90 minutes and found the net in his side’s 3-0 win over Oxford United in the FA Cup on 9 January.

The Egyptian international struggled to have a convincing playing time with Arsenal this season as he made 8 appearances in all competitions so far.
