Nantes coach Antoine Kombouare has supported Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed after ending a 12-match goal drought during the 2-2 draw with Nice in a Ligue 1 game late on Sunday.

The 24-year-old Mostafa Mohamed came off the bench in the 66th minute to help the Canaries snatch a late home draw with a nice header, grabbing his sixth league goal in 27 appearances.

“I have no problem with any of my players. Ganago and Delort are, in my opinion, ahead of him (Mostafa Mohamed),” Kombouare told the post-game’s press conference.

“He (Mostafa Mohamed) mustn't let go, I'm not letting go anyway. I trust him,” the French coach added.

The former Zamalek star is currently FC Nantes' top scorer, tied with Ludovic Blas and Andy Delort despite his rare playing time. He scored nine goals in all competitions so far this term.

Mostafa Mohamed is also the team's top assist along with Ludovic Blas and Ignatius Ganago with five each in all competitions.

“There is strong competition. I prefer this situation where he enters and he scores, it works for us,” he said.

“I believe that at some point, I will have to make him (Mostafa Mohamed) play more because the players have to be made happy,” the Nantes coach added.

The Egyptian striker joined Nantes from Turkish side Galatasaray last season on a season-long loan.
