Egyptian winger Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan of Trabzonspor sounded upbeat after returning from a long injury to play in the game against Besiktas in the Turkish league on Sunday, while attributing his failure to score in the goalless draw to "bad luck."
In early March, the 28-year-old, who sustained a muscle injury in the game against Umraniyespor in the Turkish league, which sidelined him for six weeks.
Yesterday, Trezeguet came off the bench in the 57th minute during the game yesterday but could not help his side win the match.
"I did my best to help my team win. I came close to scoring two or three goals. But, I faced bad luck," Trezeguet told a Turkish television sports channel after the game.
"The game against Besiktas was difficult for both teams. We played well, but could not win," the Trabzonspor winger said.
““I pushed myself in training in the last two weeks to return to the pitch, and I will do my best to help the team in the coming games," he added.
Trabzonspor currently sit in sixth place in the league table with 45 points, a significant 21 points behind leaders Galatasaray.
The Egypt international has scored nine goals in 35 appearances with Trabzonspor across all competitions.
