"I think it was my biggest goal because when I was young, when I was a kid I was always watching the Champions League more than the Premier League or any other league,” Salah told former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand in the latest episode of his programme Between The Lines on Monday.

Since joining the Reds in June 2017 from Italy’s AS Roma, Salah quickly proved himself, playing a key role in guiding his team to win the Champions League title in the 2018/19 season and also the Premier League in the 2019/20 season.

"Champions League was the biggest competition in that time; I think it still is. It was my dream just to play in it one day, but to play and win it is unbelievable,” the former Chelsea player added.

Salah, who won the Premier League’s Golden Boot for the competition’s top scorer three times in the 2017/18, 2018/19  and 2021/2022 seasons and is currently fourth in the scorers race this season with 16 goals in 31 Premier League appearances.

"When I look back when I came here I always said I want to win trophies and I am excited to play my football and help the team to win trophies. The team did not win for a long time so I am so proud to achieve that stuff with the team and an individual as well. Something to make me proud,” Salah explained to Ferdinand

After scoring the winner in Saturday’s 3-2 league win over Nottingham Forest, Salah has now moved to joint sixth in Liverpool’s all-time scorers list, alongside Robbie Fowler, with 183 goals in addition to 69 assists in 298 games since joining the Reds in 2017.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is always heaping praise on his star winger for his outstanding performances with the team. Meanwhile, the Pharaohs star stresses that he has a good and respectable relationship with the boss.

"We have a good relationship since I came here. We have played together for five or six years so we know each other very well now. We appreciate each other and we respect each other which is the most important thing,” Salah concluded.
