The 29-year-old forward sustained “torn hamstring during the warm-up of Doncaster Rovers pre-season friendly”, according to the club’s official website.

The former Middleborough, Wigan and West Ham started his career abroad at Belgium side Ghent in 2000 and he presented a string of strong performances with Ajax (the Netherlands), Marseille (France), Celta Vigo (Spain) and Tottenham (England).
