The club announced on Friday that medical examinations revealed that Marmoush suffered from a bruise during national team duty on Wednesday.

Marmoush was forced to leave the pitch in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers match between Egypt and Guinea after only ten minutes due to injury.

The severity of the injury has not been confirmed by the Egyptian Football Association, but Eintracht Frankfurt was keen to determine the situation of their player.

Marmoush joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer from VfL Wolfsburg last month, with his contract starting next season.

He has spent the last two seasons on loan at St Pauli and VfB Stuttgart to gain more experience.

During his six-year tenure at Wolfsburg, Marmoush made 46 appearances with the club.

The 24-year-old made his debut with Egypt's senior national team in 2021 and has scored four goals in 18 appearances to date.
