Ittihad, the Saudi Pro League champions, have already made several high-profile signings this summer, including Karim Benzema, Jota, and central midfielder N'Golo Kante.
According to Skysports, Liverpool gave Fabinho permission to complete £40m move to the Saudi side.
But with the arrival of Fabinho, Hamed may be a surplus in the squad. However, the 34-year old Hamed, who has still one-season remaining in his contract, has joined Ittihad's preseason camp.
The Jeddah-based club are reportedly set to offer Hamed for sale during the current summer transfer window amid interest from Egyptian side Pyramids FC, as he was left out of coach Nuno Santo's plans for next season, according to Saudi publication "Okaz."
Hamed, a tough-tackling midfielder, was an integral part of Ittihad Jeddah's squad that clinched the Saudi Pro League and the Saudi Super Cup. He played in 22 league games and two Super Cup games since joining them last summer on a two-year deal after his contract with Zamalek expired.
