The 20-year-old, who is considered one of the most promising young players in Egypt, joined Fenerbahce after impressing for Arab Contractors FC in the Egyptian Premier League.

Fayed made 29 appearances for Arab Contractors last season, helping the club to finish seventh in the league.

He also played for Egypt's Olympic team at the African Youth Cup of Nations in 2023.

In a statement, Fenerbahce said that Fayed will start working with the team immediately, but his future will be planned in the coming days with the technical staff.

Arab Contractors FC general supervisor of football Mohamed Adel Fathy said he was pleased with the deal, saying that Fayed was a "project" for the club to repeat the success of other Egyptian players in Europe, such as Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Elneny.

Fenerbahce are expected to loan Fayed out for the 2023-24 season in order to give him more playing time. The Turkish club has a number of experienced defenders in their squad, and Fayed will need to develop his game before he can break into the first team.

A loan move to a smaller club would give Fayed the chance to play regularly and gain valuable experience. It would also allow him to adapt to European football and the demands of playing in a top league.
