The 28-year-old winger suffered a fractured rib during Trabzonspor's 2-0 defeat against Galatasaray in the Turkish league on 19 August. Local media reports initially indicated that he would require approximately two months to make a full recovery.

However, Trabzonspor's Croatian coach Nenad Bjelica announced last week that Trezeguet would be available for the upcoming match against Besiktas on 17 September after the international break.

However, he also stated that Trezeguet would not join the Egyptian national team camp.

Trezeguet was initially among the nine foreign-based players called up by Egypt's coach Rui Vitoria for the September camp. The Egyptian national team is scheduled to face Ethiopia in the Nations Cup qualifiers on 8 September, followed by a friendly match against Tunisia four days later.

Trezeguet joined Trabzonspor on a three-year deal from Premier League side Aston Villa in the summer of 2022, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 41 games in all competitions. He was his side's second-top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig with 11 goals. He took part in two games for his side this season and missed another two through injury.
