Salah's return comes amidst ongoing discussions about his future at Anfield. The 32-year-old enters the final year of his contract, sparking speculation about potential transfers.

Slot, a 45-year-old Dutchman who succeeds to long serving-manager Jurgen Klopp, arrives at Anfield following a successful stint at Feyenoord. During his three seasons with the Dutch club, he captured the Eredivisie title in 2023 and earned two Eredivisie Manager of the Year awards.

Liverpool are scheduled for a pre-season tour in the United States later this month, which will see them face off against Real Betis, Arsenal, Manchester United and Sevilla.

Contract talks remain a focal point, with both the club and Salah publicly expressing their commitment to each other. Recent remarks by sporting director Richard Hughes suggest negotiations are underway, aiming to secure the star winger's long-term future with the Reds.
