In the 29th minute, Ipswich Captain Morsy brilliantly converted a fine cross from Wes just outside the area, powering a low shot past Dmytro Riznyk to his right and into the back of the net.

Having already played five friendlies leading up to this game, Shakhtar understandably displayed sharper form during the initial exchanges.

However, Ipswich players found their rhythm after a challenging start and gradually put the opposition on the defensive.

While the Blues will undoubtedly be delighted with their victorious start against such esteemed opponents, it is important to note that pre-season results are not the primary concern.

Ipswich's next fixture will be against German side Fortuna Dusseldorf, which is scheduled to take place at Portman Road next Saturday.

the 32-year-old Egyptian international was recognized as Ipswich Town Men's Player of the Year in a vote by the club's supporters.

His leadership played a crucial role in guiding the team back to the Premier League after a 22-year absence.

Last season, Morsy featured in 44 games across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing seven assists.
