Egypt defender Hegazi signs for Saudi second tier NEOM SC

Egyptian international defender Ahmed Hegazi has joined Saudi Arabia's NEOM SC, the club announced on Sunday.

The 33-year-old defender whose contract with Ittihad Jeddah expired in June joined the club on a free transfer.

He had been reportedly linked with former club Ahly but has opted for a new challenge in the Saudi first division.

NEOM, are managed by Brazilian coach Manoel Almeida. The defender has played over 80 matches for Egypt and has won the Saudi league and Super Cup titles with Ittihad Jeddah.
