The Egyptian winger netted the first goal for Trabzonspor in the 39th minute to give his side a crucial lead. Cihan Canak added a second in stoppage time.
The victory puts Trabzonspor one step closer to the Europa League group stage. They will face the loser of the Champions League qualifier between Wales' The New Saints and Hungary's Ferencvarosi in the next round.
Trezeguet was a constant threat throughout the match, coming close to adding a second goal in the second half. He was replaced by Mislav Orsic in the 80th minute.
The return leg will be played in Trabzon on 1 August.
