Egypt’s winger Mohamed Salah scored in Basel’s 6-1 drubbing of FC Amriswil in Saturday’s Swiss Cup game.
The 20-year-old, who joined Basel from Egyptian side Arab Contractors in the close season, completed the rout with an 86th-minute goal to lift the title holders to the Swiss Cup round of 32.
Salah had just recovered from an injury that ruled him out of Basel’s European Champions League defeat by Romania’s CFR Cluj and the goalless league draw with Zurich earlier this month.
He netted his maiden goal with Basel in their 2-0 win over Luasanne in the Swiss league last month.
