Nantes FC striker Mostafa Mohamed celebrates after scoring his goal during the match with Toulouse
The club making the offer was not disclosed in the report, but it is said to have tabled 15 million euros to secure the player's services, which the 26-year-old ultimately declined.
Mostafa Mohamed, who scored eight goals for the Canaris last season, fell out of favor with coach Antoine Kombouare, seeing limited playing time with only 27 minutes on the pitch since the start of the season.
He played the last 15 minutes against Toulouse and entered the game in the 80th minute during Nantes' 2-0 victory over Auxerre on Sunday.
Having initially joined Nantes FC on a one-season loan deal in the summer of 2022, the French club opted to make his loan move permanent in the following season.
Reports suggest that former Zamalek striker Mostafa Mohamed was also pursued by French clubs Nice and Olympique de Marseille, as well as Premier League side Wolverhampton.
Mostafa Mohamed features among the seven foreign-based players called up by coach Hossam Hassan for the Pharaohs' upcoming games against Cape Verde and Botswana in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
With 12 goals in 32 appearances for Egypt, Mohamed has been a key figure in the national team's attacking line-up.
