Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed
L'Équipe disclosed that the Egyptian forward "is not guaranteed to remain in France beyond this Friday" as Leicester City has already taken steps to secure the Nantes player.
The 26-year-old, who netted eight goals for the Canaris last season, has fallen out of favour with coach Antoine Kombouare, experiencing limited playing time with just 27 minutes on the field since the season commenced.
He made a brief appearance in the last 15 minutes of the match against Toulouse and was subbed in during the 80th minute in Nantes' 2-0 triumph over Auxerre on Sunday.
Initially joining Nantes FC on a one-season loan deal in the summer of 2022, the French club decided to convert his loan move into a permanent transfer in the subsequent season.
He is among the seven foreign-based players summoned by coach Hossam Hassan for the Pharaohs' upcoming fixtures against Cape Verde and Botswana in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
With 12 goals in 32 caps for Egypt, Mohamed has been a pivotal presence in the national team's offensive lineup.
