Egyptian star Marmoush scores again but Frankfurt lose to Leverkusen

Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush continued his scoring spree in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt, yet his efforts were not enough as the team suffered a 2-1 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen this Saturday.

The 25-year-old swiftly put Frankfurt ahead with a penalty goal just 16 minutes into the match.

However, Leverkusen's Robert Andrich equalized in the 25th minute, and Nigerian striker Victor Boniface secured the win with a goal in the 72nd minute.

Marmoush's stellar form now boasts nine Bundesliga goals this season, placing him four goals ahead of England's Harry Kane.

His recent performance includes his maiden Europa League goal in a 3-1 victory over Besiktas, bringing his total to ten goals in 11 games this season.

Throughout the 2023/2024 campaign, Marmoush has been a standout player, amassing an impressive 17 goals and 6 assists in 41 appearances across various competitions for the German side.

Currently, Eintracht Frankfurt occupies fifth place in the Bundesliga standings with 13 points, trailing league leaders RB Leipzig by four points.
