Egypt’s Marmoush shines as Frankfurt soar in Bundesliga

Egyptian sensation Omar Marmoush showcased his goal-scoring prowess once more, finding the net and providing two assists in Eintracht Frankfurt's dominant 7-2 triumph over Bochum in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Hugo Ekitike capitalized on a superb Marmoush assist just nine minutes into the match, giving the hosts an early lead.

Marmoush then hammered home the second goal in the 18th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box on a set piece.

Ansgar Knauff added a third goal shortly after, with Nathaniel Brown notching the fourth in the 32nd minute.

Mahmoud Dahoud struck the fifth goal in the 61st minute, and Can Uzun scored the sixth with an assist from Marmoush in the 66th.

Ekitike rounded off the scoring spree in the 69th minute.

Bochum managed goals through Dani de Wit and Philipp Hofmann in the 35th and 51st minutes, but Frankfurt secured a resounding 7-2 victory.

Marmoush's exceptional form sees him leading the Bundesliga goal-scoring charts with ten goals this season, edging out England's Harry Kane by a single goal.

His highlight includes his debut Europa League goal, bringing his tally to 12 goals in 13 games this campaign.

Throughout the 2023/2024 season, Marmoush has been a standout performer, amassing an impressive total of 17 goals and 6 assists in 41 appearances across various competitions for the German outfit.

Currently placed third in the Bundesliga standings with 17 points, Eintracht Frankfurt trails league leaders Bayern Munich by 6 points.
