Egyptian winger Mahmoud Abdel-Razek ‘Shikabala’ scored his first goal for Al-Wasl in their 4-1 victory over Al-Wahda in the UAE league opener on Sunday.

Shikabala put the icing on the cake when he netted Al-Wasl’s fourth goal eight minutes past the hour mark.

He beat the Al-Wahda keeper at the near post with a powerful left-foot drive from the edge of the area. He almost added a fifth with few minutes remaining but his lob went just wide of the post.

Shikabala, who joined Al-Wasl from Egyptian giants Zamalek on a season-long loan, drew cheers from the crowd with some catchy feints and tricks throughout the game.

The 26-year-old marked his debut with two assists as Al-Wasl defeated Ittihad Kalba 4-2 in their opening Group B game of the UAE Cup on Tuesday.

He was recently called up by Egypt coach Bob Bradley for two scheduled friendly games against Iran and Tunisia next month.
