The report states that Lens has been in talks with Nantes "for several days" but has yet to make an official offer to sign the 27-year-old Egyptian international.

Though under contract until 2027, Mostafa Mohamed has been trying to leave Nantes this summer in order to find another challenge.

Mohamed joined FC Nantes in the summer of 2022, coming from Turkish club Galatasaray, and has scored 25 goals in 112 appearances across all competitions.

The striker was reportedly pursued by Saudi Pro League side Neom FC, but talks collapsed after Nantes demanded a €10 million fee and a sell-on clause, while Neom offered €5 million.

French Ligue 1 club Nice was another potential suitor, considering a move following the departure of Gaëtan Laborde.

Lens finished 8th in Ligue 1 last season with 52 points, while Nantes ended 13th with 36 points.
