Liverpool's Egyptian forward, Mohamed Salah, has tipped Arsenal as favourites to win the Premier League this season, while stressing that his own priority is now guiding Liverpool’s younger players rather than chasing individual honours.

“Arsenal have a team that has played together for five or six years, and a manager who’s been there the same length of time,” the Egyptian forward told Sky Sports. “When a team stays together that long, everything becomes easier.”

“But other teams like ours and Manchester City keep changing players, which is sometimes tricky. Teams with Pep Guardiola are always favourites, but my opinion is that this year Arsenal are number one,” he added.

The 33-year-old, who last month became the first player to win the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) men’s player of the year award three times, said he had already achieved all he wanted individually.

“My target is no longer individual. I feel like I have achieved everything on that level,” Salah said.

“Now teamwork is the most important thing. I don’t need to prove anything to anyone anymore. I’m trying to share my experience with the younger players, help the team win the Premier League again, and instil a winning mentality in their minds,” he explained.

Salah added that Liverpool’s identity demanded “total commitment”: “The fans love you when you give your best. It’s not just about winning but about working hard and showing the desire to win.”

“When I was a young player, I played for enjoyment and because I loved the game. But look where I am now — I’m at Anfield. At the start of every season, I look at the fans and feel grateful to be here. A kid from Egypt who reached this level and became a star at Anfield — it’s something very special.”

Since joining from Roma in 2017, Salah has claimed four Premier League Golden Boots and helped Liverpool to two league titles (2019/20, 2024/25), the 2019 Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
