Hull City coach Steve Bruce has hailed the performance of Egyptian winger Ahmed Elmohamady during their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

The Pharaohs international delivered outstanding crosses for his teammates but they failed to score.

“We couldn’t have played any better, especially in the first half,” Bruce was quoted as saying by Hull and East Riding online newspaper after the match.

“But watching us over the last five or six months, it’s a little bit familiar. We create some really good chances and don’t take them.

“The crosses we put in, from Brady and Elmohamady, were breath-taking. We created the chances but we just haven’t put them away.

“We had 19 shots on goal, which is a colossal amount, but we haven’t taken one. That’s a concern for me," he concluded.

The 25-year-old winger joined the Tigers this summer from Sunderland on a season-long loan.

The move reunites Elmohamady with Bruce, who left Sunderland last season to take charge of English Championship side Hull City.

Elmohamady – who made 60 appearances for Sunderland, scoring one goal – had been playing regularly at Sunderland but fell down the pecking order when incumbent boss Martin O'Neill took over.
