Al-Wasl's Egyptian winger Mahmoud Abdel-Razek 'Shikabala' and compatriot Mohamed Zidan, who plays for Bany Yas, were injured on Sunday after their sides clashed in the UAE league.

Bani Yas defeated Al-Wasl 3-1 but Zidan was substituted after 14 minutes as he went down unchallenged while Shikabala, who scored Al-Wasl's only goal, had to leave the pitch with 14 minutes remaining after hurting his muscle.

Shikabala scored his third UAE league goal when his left-foot shot from inside the area beat the keeper at the near post to make it 3-1.

Bany Yas moved to the fifth place with 22 points while Al-Wasl remained eighth on 17 points.
