Basel forward Mohamed Salah expressed his desire to join German Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund next season.
The Egyptian international, however, said it is likely that Swiss side Basel will reject any offer from Dortmund should they make one.
“I hope to join either Manchester United or Arsenal one day, but I’m focused on moving to the Bundesliga next season. My desire is to play for Dortmund because I love their playing style,” the pacey winger, who was recently named as Africa’s most promising player of the year, said in a television interview.
“But I don’t think Basel will allow me to join Dortmund, because they usually prepare their youngsters to play for Bayern Munich.
“I think any move to the Bundesliga will be through Bayern Munich,” he added.
Mohamed Zidan is the only Egyptian to play for Dortmund.
Salah, 20, has made a superb start to his Basel adventure after joining from Egyptian side Arab Contractors last summer.
He has scored four goals in all competitions so far and created many goals for his teammates, making the most of his dribbling skills and darting runs down the flanks.
