Ahly forward Mohamed Abou-Treika, who recently finished a short loan deal with United Arab Emirates side Bani Yas, believes that the UAE side have efficient players and can get more trophies next season.

The Pharaohs icon was a major boost for the Emirati giants since joining them in January on a six-month loan deal from Egypt's Ahly, proving a resounding success and lifted Bani Yas to win the Gulf Cup after beating Qatari side Al-Khor in the final game.

"I am happy for my short stint with Bani Yas," Abou-Treika was quoted as saying on UAE newspaper Emirate Al-Youm on Monday.

"Despite the short period I learned much from this move."

The 34-year-old talisman returned to Egypt on Sunday with permission from Bani Yas management, since technically, he is still on contract for a few days with the UAE side.

"I thank Bani Yas management for their support and allowing me to leave before finishing my deal with them," he added.

"I hope Bani Yas can get more trophies next season, as they have very effective players in their squad,"

The two-time Africa-based player of the year (2008 and 2012) made a big impact on the UAE team, scoring five goals during this short time with them.

"I also thank Bani Yas fans for supporting me from the first game, as well as the Egyptians in the Emirates who attended games to watch me in the stadium," Egypt's star concluded.
