For the second game in a row Egypt's goalkeeper, Essam El-Hadary kept a clean sheet to help Al-Merreikh earn a precious 1-0 win against defending champions Al-Hilal to move clear on top of the Sudanese table.

An 89th-minute goal by Zambian midfielder, Jonas Sakuwaha sealed the full points of the game led by Egyptian tactician, Hossam El-Badry, who is experiencing a dream start.

It was the second official game and first derby for the Pharaoh’s goalkeeper in the Sudanese league, after ending a four-month FIFA suspension for his illegal move to Switzerland’s FC Sion in 2008 from Egyptian giants Ahly.

The Sudanese giants are in the driving seat of the league with six points after defeating Hilal Al-Sahel 2-1 last week and clinched the 1-0 victory over Al Hilal on Friday.
