Egypt’s forward Mohamed Salah continued to shine on Sunday with Swiss club Basel, scoring twice in a draw against domestic-league opponents Young Boys.

Serbian midfielder Milan Gajic converted a penalty within 38 minutes to give Young Boys an early lead. But Basel quickly came from behind with two consecutive goals by the Pharaohs hitman on the minutes 40 and 45.

Salah was sent clear by Valentin Stocker and rounded the keeper to score the first goal in the empty net to restore parity.

After joining forces with his teammate Marco Streller, the Egyptian player managed to score easily from inside the six yards to double Basel's lead.

Salah's fellow countryman Mohamed El-Neny played the full 90 minutes in Sunday's match, which leaves Basel still leading the league table with 30 points, two ahead of second-placed Grasshoppers.

The 21-year-old striker, Salah, was recently on target for Basel after scoring the decisive winner which helped his side beat Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea 1-0 at home on Tuesday.

Recent reports from British media have suggested that Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a January bid for Salah, who has been consistently praised for his pace and trickery down the flanks.

The former Arab Contractors man has scored ten goals for Basel in all competitions so far this season.
