Egypt striker Amr Zaki has vowed to deliver his best for his new club Raja Casablanca, insisting that he is very happy to join the Moroccan giants.
The 30-year-old striker flew to Morocco on Wednesday to undergo medical tests and sign his contract and he was officially presented to fans at a press conference late on Friday.
"I am not Barcelona's star Lionel Messi, but I promise to deliver my best for Raja," Zaki said in the press conference.
Scoring only nine goals in 13 matches this season, Raja currently lies in ninth place in the Moroccan league table with 17 points, 13 behind leaders Moghreb Tétouan.
"I always love to play under pressure to advance at the league table and then compete for the league title," the Pharaohs frontman said.
"I am proud to play for Raja as it is one of the biggest clubs in Africa, and I will work to solve the club's attacking line problems. Also I am happy to be the first Egyptian player who joins a Moroccan club.
"My main target is to help Raja to win the coming league matches and restore its top form and then guiding the team to win the African Champions league title," the Egyptian player concluded.
Zaki has been a free agent since leaving Kuwaiti side Al-Salmiya last month. The athletic striker was one of the Pharaohs' key figures during their golden era, winning two consecutive African Cup of Nations titles in 2006 and 2008.
However, the former Wigan striker saw his career on a downhill after 2008 due to injuries and disciplinary problems.
He was revitalised recently by former Egypt coach Bob Bradley who recalled him to the squad that played Ghana in the World Cup playoffs.
His solid performance drew him under the spotlights to finally get an offer from the Club World Cup runners-up, Raja.
