Hull City's Ahmed Elmohamady has expressed excitement over the anticipated Sunday's showdown against Sheffield United in their first FA Cup semi-final since 1930.

"We are really looking forward to the Cup game against Sheffield United. It will be great to go to Wembley," Egypt stalwart Elmohamady was quoted as saying on the British club's official website on Tuesday.

After almost guaranteeing their Premier League survival with Saturday's 1-0 win over Swansea, Steve Bruce's men are eyeing a place in the Cup final by winning at Wembley.

"I know everyone here is very excited. We want to win the game. Getting to Wembley is not enough," the 26-year-old defender added.

"We all know about the last time Hull got to a semi-final. It will be great for everyone if we can get Hull to its first final. That would be a massive thing for everyone in the city.

"I want to enjoy the day and you only do that if you win. To play at Wembley twice in one year would be incredible."

"It has been there at the back of our minds, but now we can think about it fully. There are no distractions or anything like that.

"It was a great result against Swansea. They are a top team and although we didn't play great, we did enough to get the win.

"With that out of the way, we can now concentrate on the FA Cup and that was always our aim once we got past Sunderland (in the quarter-finals). It will allow us to relax and not think about the league.

"I have been to Wembley before with my national team. It is a fantastic stadium and one that everyone will be very proud to play [in].

"The atmosphere is great. A great pitch, too, which I think will really suit us.

"I have been lucky to play in some good stadiums around the world. But this one is the best I ever played in. Totally amazing and one I can't wait to play at again."

Elmohamady joined Hull on a permanent basis from Sunderland last summer.
